It’s time to jump back into Pandaemonium! Abyssos: The Seventh Circle is the second encounter of the second 8-man, normal raid content released with Patch 6.2 of Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. It’s available at level 90 after completing Abyssos: The Sixth Circle and unlocked by the quest Servant of Violence. It can be completed via the duty finder with a minimum ilvl of 585 and rewards Unsung tokens of Abyssos for each gear type, which can be turned in to Djole at (x:10.3, y:9.7) in Meghaduta, Radz-at-Han. Mylenie at (x:8.4, y:27.7) in Aporia, Labyrinthos will also exchange Unsung tokens of Abyssos for gear.

For the sake of your fellow players, please remember that this is new content (at the time of publication). A little friendly explanation can go a long way. Similarly, don’t be afraid to take advice. You may learn something you didn’t know.

Agdistis

Yes, you can fall off!

Phase 1

  • Bough of Attis – If the boss holds her hands (boughs?) up and apart, she’ll be striking two points at the front of the arena with large, circular AoEs. If she holds her hands together and leans over the arena, the strike will land at a single point at the back of the arena.
    • If she uses the double strike, a pattern of arrow marks will appear on the floor, indicating the direction of another sliding strike across the ground. Simply avoid the arrows.
  • Hemitheos’s Holy – All players will be marked with pink, traveling AoE indicators. Spread out, but not too far so that you’re ready for:
  • Hemitheos’s Glare III – The whole arena floor will be covered in a giant donut AoE, leaving a small circle of safety in the center.
  • Bough of Attis
  • Immortal’s Obol – The platform will cover with danger except for 3 circles of safety. Make sure you in any of the 3 before the cast finishes. Also note the pulsing AoE at the center of the arena. It does damage and tosses everyone in the air, so you’ll have no chance to adjust your positioning if you don’t make it to the safety circles.

Phase 2

Shortly after your aerial trip, the 3 separate platforms will chain together and you’ll be allowed to move between them. Yes, you can still fall off! Don’t fall for that last donut AoE!

  • Bough of Attis – This functions the same way as it does on the other arena floor, the arenas of safety are just a little smaller, but more obvious! Make note that the chain bridges are mostly unsafe to stand on for this.
  • Hemitheos’s Aero II – A tank buster will be placed on both tanks. The circle of splash damage for these are fairly large.
  • Spark of Life – Unavoidable, raid-wide damage with a bleed debuff.
  • Forbidden Fruit (v1) – One of the weird fruits will drop on each platform for a total of three. These first ones will turn into Immature Io creatures that do a point-blank AoE centered on them. To avoid their damage, stand on the chain bridges between platforms.
    • Just as a note: Eyeball Fruit are always Immature Io creatures that do a point-blank AoE centered on them and Layered Fruit are always Immature Stymphanhan birds that do a dive in the direction of their arrow indicators.
  • Two sets of double arrow AoEs will appear on 2 of the small platforms. Position yourself on the chain bridge between the empty platform and the one that has no arrows pointing to it. When arrow AoEs move off the platform with no arrows point toward it, step aboard.
  • Forbidden Fruit (v2) – The more fruit will appear, this time hatching Immature Stymphanhan birds. The birds will charge in the direction of the arrow indicators under them in lines as wide as the chain bridges, so use them to determine your safe areas. Directly behind any bird, or the tiny triangles toward the center of the arena seem to work best.
  • Hemitheos’s Glare IIIDon’t jump in yet! …Ok, now you can.

Phase 3

  • Three sets of double arrow AoEs will appear, all spaced out evenly. Go between any set and move into the blank space left behind any pair of arrows as it moves across the floor.
  • Bough of Attis
  • Forbidden Fruit (v3) – A line of 3 Io creatures will be spread across the arena. At the same time, Agdistis will cast:
  • Hemitheos’s Holy – Spread out while avoiding the Ios.
  • Immortal’s Obol

Phase 4

You’ll be returned to the triangular-ish platforms.

  • Forbidden Fruit (v4) – (There sure are a bunch of different forbidden fruit configurations, huh?) The 2 front platforms will have a Stymphanhan bird fruit set on each of them, then the boss will start to cast:
  • Bough of Attis – this needs further research! always bird/back?
  • Hemitheos’s Aero II
  • Forbidden Fruit (v1) – This is just like the first version of Forbidden Fruit with the Immature Ios, except that each platform will have 2 meteor puddles to soak, for a total of 3. Players should make sure to spread as evenly as possible, so that right after the Ios’ attack goes off, they can move into the soak puddles.
  • Bough of Attis
  • Spark of Life
  • Spark of Life
  • Spark of Life
  • Forbidden Fruit (v5) – Two bird fruit and 1 Io fruit will be place, 1 to each platform, and then one of the bird platforms will have a knock back indicator. Also note that the bird fruit were placed at the back of their platforms, so there’s no safe space behind them
    • The easiest way to deal with this is to use a knock back nullifier in any safe area.
    • If you used yours already or just want to do the mechanic correctly, move to the platform with the knockback and position yourself to get knocked to the other bird platform. You’ll have a handful of seconds to get out of the bird dives before they go off, so just step off their linear AoE paths.
  • Two sets of double arrow AoEs
  • Hemitheos’s Holy
  • Spark of Life
  • Hemitheos’s Aero II
  • Hemitheos’s Glare III
  • Phase 3 and Phase 4 repeat until defeat.

Congratulations, you’ve completed Abyssos: The Seventh Circle!
