Earlier today, Crystal Dynamics Head of Studio Scot Amos published a “State of the Game” post on the official site for Marvel’s Avengers. In it, Amos discusses delays to upcoming content and next-gen versions of the game, while also commenting on upcoming changes and features.

Starting out, Amos thanked the players and announced that berginning on October 22, players will receive a “digital thank-you” bundle which includes:

  • Credits: 1500 – Enough for a Legendary Skin and Nameplate from the Marketplace
  • Units: 7000
  • Upgrade Modules: 250
  • DNA Keys: 20
  • A Sarah Garza-Inspired Nameplate (Because seriously, you’re the best.)

He goes on to say that future updates to Marvel’s Avengers will include a ping system that finally lets you tell AI controlled Avengers to smash (or hack) doors, the ability to replay the campaign and adjustments to increase visibility of your fellow heroes and clarify mission rewards.

The first post-launch hero, Kate Bishop, who was originally set to arrive this month has been pushed back, though further details on timing aren’t given. Additionally, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game have been pushed into 2021 in order to give the team more time to ensure they deliver the experience they want. The game however, will still work on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S via backwards compatibility and allow players to play within their respective eco-systems as well as carry over save data.

In the coming weeks, Amos states that the game will see the inclusion of the first “Omega-Level Threat” event, which will be the AIM Cloning lab. This event will be available between 10:00 AM PDT Friday and 10:00 AM PDT Monday, giving players a weekend specific, end-game challenge.
